Data, not advice. Pipal presents factual nutritional data based on UK NHS/NICE reference values. It is not medical advice and does not replace consultation with a qualified healthcare professional.

1. Acceptance

By using Pipal you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, do not use the app.

2. What Pipal is — and isn't

Pipal is a nutrition data tracking tool. It analyses food photos and your self-reported logs to present factual nutritional information.

Pipal is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. It does not provide medical or dietary advice. AI-estimated values may be inaccurate — always verify with food labels or a qualified professional.

3. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old to use Pipal.

4. Acceptable use

Don't upload photos of other people without consent. Don't try to reverse-engineer the service, scrape data, or attack our systems. Don't use Pipal to make medical decisions without consulting your healthcare provider.

5. Subscription

Pipal offers a free tier and an optional premium subscription. Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled. Cancel any time in your device's subscription settings — there are no cancellation fees. Refunds are handled by Apple/Google per their policies.

6. AI accuracy disclaimer

Food analysis is generated by AI and is approximate. Calorie and macro estimates may be off by ±25%. For exact values, use the food label or a registered dietitian. Don't rely on Pipal alone for medical or insulin dosing decisions.

7. GP report disclaimer

The GP report presents your self-reported intake data in a clinical format. It is a data summary, not a clinical assessment. Your GP retains full responsibility for interpretation and clinical decision-making.

8. Intellectual property

Pipal's code, design, and content are our property. Your data (photos, logs) remains yours — we have a limited licence to process it to provide the service. You can delete it any time.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any health outcomes, decisions, or damages arising from your use of Pipal. The app is provided "as is". Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death, personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud.

10. Changes to terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in-app at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use means you accept the new terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
